This 30th anniversary release from the Scottish traditional band Capercaillie sees them surrounded by guests, ranging from two-thirds of Lau to a handful of Scottish jazz brass players to singers from the Islands. When the band hits its rhythm, Manus Lunny’s rhythm guitar underpinning Michael McGoldrick’s flute and Charlie McKerron’s violin, and Karen Matheson’s voice floating over the top, all else is irrelevant.
