RoboCop – film review

Leadenly manufactured – or perhaps from binned leftovers of the alloy used for biomechanical policemen – RoboCopis the remake no one needed. Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton as semi-mad scientist and corrupt tycoon chew the scenery, only to find it as synthetic and flavourless as everything else. That includes a super-dull Joel Kinnaman as RoboCop and the human policeman he supposedly is/was before being reduced to a head, a hand and two lungs. Brazilian director José Padilha (Elite Squad) brings Latin fire to the action scenes, none to the long ones between.
