Obsessed with joining the Swedish jet set, hard-up student JW drives for a taxi firm that is really a front for drug money laundering. What follows is a sometimes confusing tangle of traps and double-crosses involving Sweden’s Arab, Serb and Hispanic criminal gangs.
JW, anti-hero of this Nordic noir, belatedly realises he’s in too deep. The film’s payoff, which takes its time coming, is a bleak indictment of the true cost of crime: brutality, betrayal, loss – so much for “easy” money.
