Fernando Fragueiro is to step down in March as dean of IAE Business and Management School in Argentina, a position he has held for 13 years. He will be replaced by associate dean Marcelo Paladino, a professor of business, society and economy.

Prof Paladino, who is Argentinian despite his Italian-sounding name, joined IAE in 1983 as professor of operations and technology. A mechanical engineer by initial training, he has a PhD from Iese Business School in Barcelona.

Prof Fragueiro will spend the next year on sabbatical, doing research at Harvard Business School and at Iese. Towards the end of the year he is hoping to set up a research centre in regional leadership for global managers, possibly in Miami. Prof Fragueiro already has commitments from two corporate sponsors but is looking for around 10 sponsoring companies in total.

Prof Paladino will be the third dean in IAE’s history.
