Rouen School of Management has appointed an industry economist to head up its flagship masters in management programme. Between 1991 and 1997 Catherine Plichon was as an economist for the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry and subsequently joined Compagnie Bancaire (a French federation of banking institutions) as Manager of Economic Studies.

As director of the Rouen Grande Ecole programme, Ms Pilchon, 41, will be given the task of making the programme more internationally competitive and fully in line with Bologna Accord requirements. This will entail dividing the programme into clearly defined bachelors and masters components. Masters students will be required to choose one of 13 area specialisations such as auditing, corporate finance, retailing, human resources management and management of non-profit organisations. Masters students will also be required to do an internship and complete a thesis.

Ms Plichon holds a PhD in political science from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and a European Executive MBA from ESCP-EAP.
