The Indian School of Business is to establish an institute of public policy at its planned campus in Mohali, in collaboration with a US school.

The Fletcher school of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University will partner with the ISB to set up the Bharti Institute of Public Policy.

Both schools have stressed the opportunities the institute will create for cross collaboration.

The partnership will extend to joint executive education programmes, joint research projects, faculty exchange, curriculum development and specialisations in masters level programmes. Both schools anticipate that the collaboration will provide new perspectives on sectors such as security, energy and trade.

The institute will initially focus on research and executive education and the intention is to offer students the public policy specialisation in the class of 2013.

ISB will continue to have the support of its founding schools - the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Earlier this year ISB entered an agreement with MIT Sloan School of Management for support in establishing an institute of physical infrastructure management and an institute of manufacturing excellence.
