The Americas Society and Council of the Americas will on Tuesday release the first edition of a new Americas-focused online resource for businesses, policymakers, academics and media.

The inaugural issue of News and Views, a monthly news and analysis newsletter, will be electronically distributed throughout the hemisphere to more than 15,000.

Representing a collaboration with the Financial Times, News and Views will provide subscribers with the latest Financial Times news and editorial content on the region.

“With consolidated information on the latest regional trends and events, News and Views is an important source to stay abreast of events and the opinions of business and political leaders in the region,” said Chris Sabatini, senior director of policy, Americas Society and Council of the Americas.

The newsletter will contain interviews with business and policy leaders, policy updates and accounts of the latest Americas Society and Council of the Americas’ roundtable and panel discussions. It represents the latest Americas Society and Council of the Americas contribution to the analysis and discussion of the critical issues facing the hemisphere, Mr Sabatini said.

Susan Segal, president and chief executive, said: “This new on-line publication allows the Americas Society and Council of the Americas to enhance its role in shaping policy debate in the hemisphere.”
