Radha Arora, 55, president of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, oversees a portfolio of 18 properties, including New York’s Carlyle Hotel, the Rosewood Abu Dhabi and the Rosewood London, which recently opened after a $120m renovation. Arora, who is based in Dallas, plans to expand the group’s portfolio by 50 per cent over the next few years through such high-profile projects as Paris’s Hôtel de Crillon and Al Faisaliah at Durrat Arriyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Suit by Domenico Vacca
Although I am based in Dallas, where it can be very hot and where we tend to dress more casually, I am constantly travelling through different cultures and climates, so I wear more formal suits. I like a Neapolitan-style, custom-made suit by Domenico Vacca because it can be dressed up or down, depending on my choice of shirt or tie. I always opt for a soft-shouldered, marine-blue or grey suit because they look sophisticated and work well in all situations. At the end of the day, style and design are of the utmost importance to our brand, and I try to exemplify this through the way I dress.

Shirt by Ascot Chang
Custom-made shirts by Ascot Chang are often my choice for formal dressing. Our company is based in Hong Kong, and as I’ve been spending more time there, I find that this is an easy place to have beautiful, bespoke shirts made. I generally opt for brilliant white, French blue, or a powder blue – often with French cuffs – but occasionally I will don a check pattern. I like a French-cut shirt with a Windsor knot and I choose formal or casual looks depending on the situation. If I am in Asia, my shirts are almost always more conservative, whereas in Europe, I feel I can flirt with fashion a bit more. If I am wearing cufflinks, they are always small white pearls by Mikimoto that complement both my watch and suiting.

Tie by Hermès
Our brand is about creativity and character and one of the ways I like to express this is through my choice of ties. I tend to favour sophisticated, solid ties, but with a twist. It is important to get the colour palette just right and Hermès ties in greys, blues and orange can be either playful or restrained – and again, I choose according to my audience.

Shoes by John Lobb
I think an elegant, well-made shoe is as important as a firm handshake and I have mine made at John Lobb where the quality is outstanding. I prefer a double monk strap style – in brown or tan as these match my suits – that are comfortable and look formal but with a bit of edge.

Watch by Patek Philippe
I have a Patek Philippe 5726 Nautilus calendar watch in platinum that I wear almost every day. I like the company’s campaign – “You never really own a Patek Philippe. You merely look after it for the next generation” – and this is how I view my timepiece. I think this watch appeals to the affluent explorer, much like the Rosewood brand.
