Sir, What is the world coming to? David Tang patronises the sort of Paris hotel (House & Home, May 9) that, dear me, outsources to keep its guests supplied with croissants for breakfast? And this when there are umpteen top-notch hotels with multi-starred kitchens in the French capital that bake their own Viennoiseries? Maybe the FT’s Agony Uncle should have a word with Tyler Brûlé over in Life & Arts. I cannot see the Fast Lane discombobulated over croissants in Paris.
And what’s all that about the “Sun King” being Louis XVI? Next thing we know Sir David will be informing us Henry VIII did not build the Great Wall of China.
