Every Thursday a business school professor, an expert in his or her field, will define five key terms. The definitions can be found in the “More” section on the left hand side of the page below.

Alan Harrison is professor of operations and logistics at Cranfield School of Management. His research interests focus on the application of Japanese management methods to UK manufacturing. He also leads the Supply Chain Research Centre, one of Europe’s largest centres dedicated to research into logistics and supply chain management.

Prof Harrison has a PhD from Cranfield School of Management. Before joining Cranfield he taught at Warwick Business School and worked at Procter & Gamble in senior manufacturing management.
