One of the largest satellite fairs, Art Miami boasts “Banksy out of Context”, five walls of stencilled designs from the enigmatic graffiti artist, and rare pieces from Ai Weiwei, Tracey Emin, Salvador Dalí and Alexander Calder.

Pulse Miami

December 5-9

With its audience-engaging installations, 2012 is Pulse’s seventh year as a fixture in Miami’s art calendar. Interactive “Pulse Projects” include Zackary Ducker’s At Least You Know You Exist, a kaleidoscopic film study of sexualities in flux, David Opdyke’s tuberous plant sculptures and Shantell Martin’s graphic murals.

Art Asia

December 5-9

Art Asia offers a meticulously curated insight into the continent’s contemporary output. A special exhibition, Beauty and Chaos within the Urban Environment, synthesises the tumult of Mumbai with Hamra Abbas’s fibreglass sculptures, Shelly Bahl’s psychedelic portraits and Huma Mulji’s animal corpse manipulations.

Right by Art Basel, Select promotes an impressive range of galleries and dedicates a small area to independent printmakers.

Overture Miami

Miami Project Art Fair

Project, the newest addition to Miami’s contemporary art scene, showcases installation art from 65 international galleries. Lead pieces this year include Nina Katchadourian’s playful recreations of Flemish portraits in airplane toilets, Monique Prieto’s multimedia oil paintings, and an immersive video experience from Camille Utterback.
