The chief executive of Vertu looks for three elements in shoes: comfort, style and versatility

……………………………………………………………..

Coat by Prada

This is a grey cashmere winter overcoat that I bought in Milan. It supplements my suits because it’s a tight-fit formal coat and medium length. I wore this to our Constellation launch in London this year, which was held in a warehouse with an open atrium.

Suit by Zegna

This is a solid-blue super-600 wool three-button suit that I bought in Florence. In a suit you’re always “dressed”. I seldom wear a tie. We’re not so formal as a company but we always have a lot of external visitors come to see us, be they clients, suppliers, press, or partners working with us on various projects, so you balance formal and informal in a suit.

Shirt by Gucci

I only wear Gucci shirts because they are a slim fit. I have 50-100 white shirts! In the morning you don’t have much time but a white shirt always fits with every suit and I just dry-clean them. It keeps things simple. It’s probably influenced a bit by Tom Ford, who only wears white shirts.

Watch by A Lange & Söhne

A Lange & Söhne are about craftsmanship and modest design. It matches the Vertu brand in that you need to be a connoisseur to know it.

Shoes by Prada

I think all my shoes are by Prada. These are black lace-up Oxfords. There’s three elements for me in shoes: comfort, style and versatility. I like the more traditional range of Prada, at least for my formal wear.
