The results from several key US battleground states have rolled in.
Donald Trump is projected to win Florida, which carries 29 electoral votes, according to AP. Without Florida, it would have been difficult for Mr Trump to draw up the 270 electoral votes he needs to win the election.
The state was won by president Barack Obama in 2012 and 2008 and Republican president George Bush in 2004.
The AP also called Ohio for Mr Trump.
Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton was projected to have scored a victory in Virginia, an important part of her “firewall”.
