Berlin-based producer Travis Stewart boldly stakes a claim as an electronic music Italo Calvino with Vapor City, a concept album about a fantasy city in which each track portrays a different district.

“Gunshotta” takes a trip down the mean streets with rumbling junglist beats while “Dont 1 2 Lose U” conjures a lonely nocturnal vista of auto-tuned vocals and desperate text-ese. Other tracks present a more abstract picture of the metropolis: the stuttering washes of sound in “SeeSea” sounds like tides of information pulsing across a network.
