Transplanted Teesiders Stu and Debbie Hanna tackle the big themes on their new album, a set of songs that span the human life cycle.
Some of them (“Clifton Hall Mine”, “Bet Beesley & Her Wooden Man”) mine the antique song book of the North East; elsewhere, there is a keen eye for modern material culture, from teacakes to boxed sets of Friends to giving yesterday’s dirty clothes a pre-school-run squirt of Febreze.
