Will changes in Scotland significantly affect global economies?

Sir, I was interested to read your article “Triple shock for world economies” (September 16) claiming that the OECD sees the potential secession of Scotland as one of the three major risks to the world economy.

The question must be asked: will the changes for an economy whose gross domestic product represents only 8 per cent of the current UK GDP really have significant reverberations around the global marketplace?
