Dylan Howe’s latest CD re-imagines tracks from David Bowie’s albums “Low” and “Heroes” by mixing moody electronica with solid acoustic jazz.

The opening track closely follows the swirling synthesised strings of the original Bowie/Eno “Subterraneans” but not all is gloom and despondency.

“All Saints” zips into sparky Brandon Allen sax, “Warszawa” upscale Ross Stanley piano and one-time Blockheads drummer Dylan Howe delivers an energetic pulse. Overall, though, it is Ross Stanley’s multi-layered keyboards that stand out, powerfully evoking the existential foreboding that pervades the original.
