Cyrille Aimée is a straight-ahead jazz singer but her backing band are steeped in Gipsy Jazz.

Ellington’s “Caravan” starts as an intricate mesh of words and ends up with exuberant guitar heading in all directions at once. One song suddenly reveals itself as a lovely cover of Michael Jackson’s “Off The Wall”, nothing like the original. But “Love Me Or Leave Me”, usually languid, comes over here as fidgety and distracted.
