The Metropolitan Police service has released an image of the man who died earlier this week in an attack on Westminster, and appealed to the public for more information.

In a statement, the police said Khalid Masood has gone by alternative names, including Adrian Elms and Adrian Russell Ajao.

Acting deputy commissioner Mark Rowley said:

You will understand our determination to find out if he either acted totally alone inspired by terrorist propaganda, or if others have encouraged, supported or directed him.

The police also released a number of details about the arrests made across the country in relation to this week’s attack. Searches are still under way at addresses in Birmingham and east London. Arrests have been made in east London, Birmingham and Manchester.
