If the government is short of money perhaps it could consider abolishing the Health and Safety Executive. In the last two months I have been told that health and safety prevented my windows being cleaned, so I have to go up a ladder three flights to do them, and a parcel could not be carried down to my cellar, so I had to carry it instead. I will be 72 next birthday.

Clearly the HSE doesn’t consider unintended consequences, never mind the cost to companies and individuals.
