Blurred Lines fronts up with its sex-pest title track, the hit single in which Robin Thicke slinks around crooning “I know you want it” like a man who just won’t take “no” for an answer. OK, it’s a wickedly catchy little ditty – but that only makes the sexism more insidious.

The Prince soundalike’s creepy seductive technique resurfaces on “Take It Easy on Me” when he threatens to “rip through all your fancy clothes” while in “Give It 2 U” he brags about the size of … well, you get the idea. Meanwhile the music subsides from club bangers and disco-tinged soul into dull slow jams, the musical equivalent of a dull candlelit meal.
