Unlike the footstomping monotony of their vastly more famous folk-pop peers Mumford & Sons, Oxford quartet Stornoway succeed in mastering a range of moods on their second album, from rousing roots-rock (“Take Me As I Am”) to ragtime-tinged balladry (“The Great Procrastinator”) and classic Belle and Sebastian twee-pop (“Knock Me On The Head”).
