Fashion retailer Ted Baker is writing a list and checking it twice ahead of the festive season.

In a trading update, the company, which prefers to describe itself as a “global lifestyle brand”, said its retail sales rose by an upbeat 15.4 per cent in the three months to mid-November compared to the same spell last year, with e-commerce sales up by over 30 per cent. The growth comes despite of “challenging trading conditions”.

CEO Ray Kelvin said:

The reaction to our collections has been very encouraging, however, the Group’s full year results will, as always, be dependent on trading conditions over the important Christmas period.
