Up above birds sing and Orpheus does his loverman shtick on the lyre. Meanwhile down below lurks Hadès, a clanking, imposing underworld brought to us by Mondkopf, aka French techno DJ Paul Régimbeau, in cahoots with drone guitarist Greg Buffier. It’s a one-paced journey, mistaking slowness for oppressiveness, but the textures are impressively dank and gloomy.
