Bruce Magid is to be the new dean of Brandeis International Business School, Massachusetts.

Mr Magid is currently dean of the College of Business at San José State University and will take up his new appointment at the beginning of July.

While at the College of Business he founded the Lucas Graduate School of Business and before this was the founding executive director of MSU Global, Michigan State University’s online and global distance education business unit.

Mr Magid holds a multidisplinary PhD in international economics, business law and comparative politics from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.

He has two decades of corporate experience to hand, working at the Bank of America where, before leaving, he was senior vice-president responsible for corporate finance activities in Latin America.

He succeeds Peter Petri, the founding dean of Brandeis International Business School who stepped down last year to return to the school’s faculty.
