Dress by ALC
I bought this playful, fluorescent dress on the Outnet. I have a lot of leeway because while I work in an office, it’s not traditionally corporate. When I started out I would never, in a million years, have worn a dress like this. I dressed like [the movie] Working Girl with my Reeboks thrown in with some Laura Ashley dresses.
Belt by Barneys
This wide black belt is from Barneys in-house brand and I also bought it in brown. It accentuates the waist but lets me feel professional and fun all at the same time.
Bracelets by Jennifer Fisher
When I visited Jennifer Fisher’s showroom she started putting the bracelets on me while I was talking to her about being on one of our shows and I just had to buy them. When I’m wearing plainer clothes, I dress up with accessories.
Watch by Hermès
My parents got this for me at my college graduation: my first grown-up watch to enter the business world. I wear different watches, but this one puts a smile on my face because it’s elegant and classic.
Rings by Cartier and Ileana Makri
My pink ring is Cartier. My parents bought this for my sweet 16. The other ring I bought from a friend of mine who has passed away. She came from Greece to Fire Island and I love snake jewellery. It’s Ileana Makri. I loved it and bought it off her finger and sometimes I’ll put on the ring when going to a meeting because I feel as though the snake is empowering. I wore it when I talked to Isaac Mizrahi about being on Project Runway All Stars.
Shoes by Dolce Vita
I bought these shoes at the store inside the W Hotel in Miami. I think pantyhose and low-level pumps have gone by the wayside for today’s business woman, who doesn’t have to dress in a particular way to be respected. Being stylish is very much appreciated now and being over 40 you’re not afraid to have a bit of sex appeal. It’s only after you hit a certain age you feel that way though. I don’t know if I was younger and starting out in business I’d feel that way.
