All you have to do is send us a 200-300 word paragraph on the subject ‘The key features of the phone of the future’ – anything from shape to usability, from functionality to power use – or anything else your imagination can conjure up. Entries will be assessed on their innovation and creativity.

Two runners up will win a new Samsung Jet. 1. No purchase is necessary to enter the competition (Competition). By entering into this Competition entrants agree to these terms and conditions and acknowledge that failure to comply with them may result in disqualification.

2. The Competition is run by The Financial Times Limited (registered No. 227590 England) (FT) and is run in association with [insert relevant company name and registered company number] (Samsung) (together, the Promoters).

3. To enter the Competition, Entrants must send in a short paragraph (200 – 300 words) on the subject “The key features of the phone of the future” either 1) by post: send your list of key phone features, with your name and contact details, to FT-Samsung Competition, Digital Business, Financial Times, One Southwark Bridge, London SE1 9HL, or 2) by e-mail: send your list of key phone features, with your name and contact details to digitalbusiness@ft.com, with ‘FT-Samsung Competition’ in the subject field (Entry). All Entries must be received before 5pm GMT on Wednesday 8 July 2009. Entries must be submitted in English. All other forms of entry will not be considered. The Promoters are unable to acknowledge receipt of individual Entries.

4. This Competition is open to entrants worldwide and entrants must be over the age of 18 (Entrants). Entrants (and their immediate family) who are directors and employees of the FT or Samsung, or their associated companies or agencies are prohibited from entering. The Competition shall be void where prohibited by local law. All national and local laws and regulations shall apply.

5. Multiple or incomplete Entries will be deemed to be invalid. Once submitted, it will not be possible to amend an Entry.

6. As the named author of the submitted Entry, you warrant that: a) all information provided in the Entry is true, accurate and correct; b) the Entry is your own original work (and not a copy or substantial copy of any other work) and contains no defamatory or libellous material; and c) your Entry does not include details on any application or process which may be patentable unless you have secured the patent or this is pending.

7. Prize: There is one main Prize consisting of:

· The new Samsung Jet handset;

· Return business class flights for the winner to Seoul from anywhere in the world;

· A visit to Samsung’s headquarters in Suwan and exclusive access to Samsung’s brand studio in Seoul;

· 4 nights accommodation in a 4 star hotel in Seoul, including breakfast; and

· Return transfers from Seoul Airport to the hotel in Seoul.

There will be 2 runner-up Prizes, each consisting of the new Samsung Jet handset.

8. Flights include taxes, fees and charges. Transfers/connections to/from the airport for inbound and outbound flights, and travel insurance are not included in the Prize. Some lunches and dinners will be provided. All other extras including food, beverages and other incidental costs are excluded from the Prize and must be paid by the winner.

9. Outbound travel must be completed between Monday July 20 2009 and Monday 19 October 2009. Both outbound and inbound flights must be booked by Monday 14 September 2009 otherwise tickets will be forfeited. Once booked, no changes can be made to the booking.

10. The main Prize will be awarded to the Entrant who is deemed by the Promoters to have submitted the most creative and innovative Entry. Entries will be judged by Peter Whitehead (Editor of FT Digital Business) and JK Shin (Head of Samsung Mobile) or a senior representative of Samsung. The Promoters will also award 2 runner-up Prizes.

11. FT will notify the selected winners by Monday 20 July 2009 and provide details of how to claim the Prize. The winners will be required to confirm acceptance of the Prize within three days of notification. If the Prize is declined, or unclaimed by the winners, or if the winners cannot be contacted from the details supplied, supplementary winners may be selected at the discretion of the Promoters. The original Entry that was chosen will be forfeited.

12. Entrants will retain all intellectual property rights in their Entry ideas. The Promoters will treat all Entries as confidential when reviewed.

13. By entering the Competition, Entrants agree to take part in any publicity (including without limitation being available for photo shoots and other publicity work) relating to the Competition if they are invited to do so and without further compensation. The winners may be required to participate in follow-up media coverage in the Financial Times. Where Entrants are based outside the UK, Entrants will use their reasonable endeavours to comply with this Clause 13.

14. The decision of the Promoters and selection of the winners is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and has no cash value if not used. The Promoters give no warranty or guarantee in relation to the number of Entrants who take part in the Competition.

15. All bookings and arrangements for the Prize must be arranged between the winners and Samsung. All dates are subject to availability capacity control and the number of prize travel seats on any flight may be limited and outside the control of the Promoters.

16. The winner is responsible for supplying valid passports and visas. The Promoters recommend that all passengers consider travel and medical insurance prior to commencing any flight.

17. The winner may be required to complete and return an eligibility form stating their age and residency details.

18. The Promoters reserve the right to cancel or amend these Terms and Conditions. At the time of the Competition launch the Prize is offered in good faith but should events beyond the control of the Promoters make it impossible to award the Prize, the Promoters reserve the right to vary or amend the Prize (for a prize of equal or greater value) and Entrants agree not to hold the Promoters liable for any loss they incur from such changes. The Promoters reserve the right to extend the dates of the Competition in the event of low Entry numbers.

19. The Promoters cannot accept responsibility for or liability arising from Entrants taking part in the Competition or for taking up the Prize. The Promoters give no warranty or guarantee in relation to the Prize and accept no responsibility or liability for the flights or other elements of the Prize being amended by the Promoters. To the fullest extent permissible by law, the Promoters exclude liability for all loss, damage or claim arising as a result of the Entrants entry into the Competition or use of the Prize.

20. To the fullest extent that may be excluded by law the Promoters accept no responsibility for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of Entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of, or failure to receive Entry information on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site or any combination thereof. The Promoters are also not responsible for mail-in or submitted entries that are lost, late, misdirected, incomplete or illegible. Proof of submission does not guarantee receipt of Entry by the Promoters.

21. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Disputes arising in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
