Ensuring it has a place in the rapidly expanding market for online programmes, Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management today launched the Online Fully Employed MBA.

Targeted towards working professionals, the programme aims to minimise the impact on work and home life schedules but will mirror the school’s existing on-campus programme. This includes a 12-unit concentration in finance, marketing or leadership and an in-person immersion module that will offer students the opportunity to interact with each other and faculty.

“In launching an Online Fully Employed MBA programme, the Graziadio School seeks to create the world’s best values-centered MBA delivered through the internet,” says David Smith, associate dean of academic affairs, who is overseeing the initiative.

The programme is scheduled to start in January 2013 and students will be able to complete the course in six semesters.

As reported in our Online Learning Report in March 2012, there has been an explosion in the number of schools offering online courses over the past year. These include the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School in the US, which launched their MBA@UNC programme last July and Spain’s IE Business School in Madrid.
