Kellogg ties up with Guanghua for Executive MBA in Beijing

Kellogg School of Management is moving into China through an agreement with Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management to run an Executive MBA programme – an MBA for working managers – in the country’s capital.

The agreement adds an extra location to Kellogg’s network of EMBA programmes – the school at Northwestern University already runs EMBA degrees with Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong), Tel Aviv University (Israel), WHU (Germany) and York University (Canada) as well as on two of its own campuses in Chicago and Miami.

The complexities of the Chinese education system mean that this is the second EMBA taught by Peking University in collaboration with an overseas business school. The National School of Development (NSD) at Peking University runs the Beijing International MBA (Bimba) with Vlerick Business School in Belgium.

The Guanghua-Kellogg 22-month joint degree programme will begin in September 2014 and will be taught primarily in week-long segments on Guanghua’s Beijing campus and also on its new campus in Shanghai. Participants will also take classes on Kellogg’s Chicago campus with students from the other programmes in the network.

Participants will also be able to take electives with Kellogg’s four other global partner schools. “Through our unique global EMBA network, which will now include Guanghua, we offer students a distinctive learning experience, preparing them to lead in the complex global economy,” says Kellogg dean Sally Blount.
