Wolfgang MunchauWolfgang Munchau is an associate editor of the Financial Times, where he writes a weekly column about the European Union and the European economy. Before taking up this position in September 2003, he was co-editor of Financial Times Deutschland for two years.

David PillingDavid Pilling has been the Tokyo Bureau Chief for the FT since January 2002. His column ranges over Japanese business, investment, politics and diplomacy.


Ingram PinnIngram Pinn has worked for the Financial Times since 1986. He illustrates articles on the comment page every Tuesday to Friday, and contributes his own visual comment on the week every Saturday.
Gideon RachmanGideon Rachman became chief foreign affairs columnist for the Financial Times in July 2006. He joined the FT after a 15-year career at The Economist, which included spells as a foreign correspondent. His particular interests include American foreign policy, the European Union and globalisation.

Michael SkapinkerMichael Skapinker is an Associate Editor of the FT and a columnist. From 2000 to 2005, he was the FT’s Management Editor and wrote a weekly management column. From 2005 to 2007, he was the weekend editor. His column, on business and society, appears in the FT on Tuesdays.

Philip StephensPhilip Stephens is associate editor of the Financial Times and a senior commentator. He joined the newspaper in 1983 and has been the FT’s economics editor, political editor and editor of the UK edition. He is a well-known author and broadcaster. His column appears on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Lawrence SummersLawrence H. Summers is the Charles W. Eliot University Professor at Harvard University. Mr. Summers has served as political economist for the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, chief economist of the World Bank, and secretary of the treasury of the United States.
