Daniel Dombey, US Diplomatic Correspondent, Financial Times.
Daniel Dombey is the FT’s US Diplomatic Correspondent, covering the State Department, the Pentagon, the US intelligence agencies and foreign and national security policy generally.
Based in Washington, he covers issues such as the dispute over Iran’s nuclear programme, policy towards Afghanistan and Pakistan and the US’s bilateral relations with established and emerging world powers. He also follows debate on related issues in the US Congress. Other areas he focuses on include Washington’s diplomatic scene and the work of the US capital’s many think-tanks
Daniel previously covered diplomatic beats for the Financial Times in both London and Brussels, where he first got to grips with issues such as Iran, European Union enlargement and Nato’s role in Afghanistan.
He started writing for the FT in Mexico in 1995. He has an MPhil in Latin American Studies from Cambridge University and a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University. - -
