Fund managers told not to panic

It wasn’t quite a case of fund managers clinging to each other in the bars and shouting, Corporal Jones-like, “Don’t panic!” during the National Association of Pension Funds annual conference in Glasgow on Thursday.

However, there was a sense of the surreal as the various conference streams worked through the awesome nitty gritty of accounting standards or whether Sipps were the future of DC schemes, while the financial storm raged outside – and the people who in theory are the experts on the subject tried to work out just what it all means for pensions.
