JPMorgan to open branch in Chengdu

JPMorgan will on Thursday open a corporate banking branch in Chengdu, joining the growing ranks of western financial institutions expanding their presence to China’s second-tier cities.

The decision by the US financial services group underscores moves by foreign banks to widen their mainland footprint by opening branches in western China to service the rising number of flagship domestic and global companies operating in the region.
