France Telecom tunes into internet television

Internet television and video-on-demand are enabling France Telecom to cope with a structural decline in revenues from traditional fixed-line calls in its home market.

France’s former telecoms monopoly on Thursday released first-half results that beat analysts’ forecasts. The robust performance reflected the increased resilience of its once-problematic French fixed-line arm.
