Half of workforce monitored

Half the workforce – more than 10m employees – have their work logged and recorded by computer systems, according to a new study of the labour market and working conditions.

As a result, more employees are reporting exhaustion, work-related anxiety and a deteriorating family life, according to extensive surveys of both employers and employees funded by the Economic and Social Research Council.
