Advanced Micro Devices, the second largest maker of PC microprocessors, on Friday said it would cut 9 per cent of its workforce as it took steps to reduce costs in worsening economic conditions.
AMD said it would cut 900 jobs, which, combined with natural attrition and the sale of its handheld business, would take the cuts to its global workforce to 9 per cent or 1,100 positions in the current quarter.
