Broker boost for Reed Elsevier

Reed Elsevier, the Anglo Dutch publishing group, bounced off a four-month low after a push from two leading brokers.

On Tuesday, shares in the publisher of The Lancet touched their lowest level since mid-December, as investors continued to switch into more cyclical media stocks. Reed has also been affected by concerns about the performance of its exhibition and business information divisions and which direction Ian Smith, new chief executive, might take the company.
