Sir Moir Lockhead is a rare chief executive. The boss of the world’s biggest public transport company, FirstGroup, is as focused on ensuring that a dirty bus is sent to the bus wash as he is about doing billion pound deals.
In the past 13 years he has worked closely with his legal adviser, Nigel Boardman, of City firm Slaughter & May, and their partnership has nurtured the expansion of FirstGroup from a £300m ($465m) a year business to revenues of more than £5bn in the 2008 financial year.
