IHG offers little refuge for hotel owners

InterContinental Hotels Group is sympathetic with the financially stricken owners of its branded hotels but has no intention of sharing the pain with them, the group’s chief executive said.

Andy Cosslett said for several of them their financial plight was of their own making, the result of overleveraging themselves to get into the hospitality business.
