Insurers to look at welfare provision

The insurance industry and government should work together to explore the potential for insurers to help relieve the burden of welfare provision from the public purse, according to an inquiry into the industry’s future.

Alistair Darling, chancellor, and Andrew Moss, chief executive of Aviva, will unveil the report on Monday.
