Tim Russert, the host of NBC’s influential Meet the Press programme and one of America’s foremost political journalists, died Friday at age 58. Mr Russert collapsed at the bureau, according to the network.
Mr Russert’s death leaves a gaping hole in NBC’s news division in the midst of a historic presidential campaign season. In addition to being the public face of NBC’s political coverage, Mr Russert was also its Washington bureau chief.
