Iranian opposition still under siege

The Iranian regime has stepped up pressure on opposition leaders, closing the office of a presidential candidate and arresting a key ally of another.

On Wednesday the authorities sealed off the office of Mehdi Karroubi, a presidential candidate in the June 12 election. They collected documents, CDs, films and computers, according to Esmail Gerami-Moqaddam, a representative for the outspoken cleric’s political party.
