Education: Loss of quality takes heavy toll

It is a fact that every parent in Egypt knows: if you want to maximise your children’s chances of getting a highly-paid job in the future, you should avoid state schools.

For the overwhelming majority of families, however, that is not an option. Only a very small fraction of the population can afford to send their children to private schools where standards are somewhat better and foreign languages are taught at an early age.
