US: Bail-outs help ease fears of widespread liquidations

Prospects for debt-laden US companies have improved more rapidly than many restructuring experts had expected and fears of widespread liquidations no longer look justified.

Capital markets have seen an encouraging recovery after the dark days of March and April. When lending markets started to recover during the summer, conditions for obtaining financing were changing so rapidly that bankers found it difficult to advise struggling clients.
