Politicians should be paid for results

Amidst all the huffing and puffing about MPs’ expenses, little attention has been given to the issue of how to manipulate their pay structure to ensure better performance.

This is surprising, considering that politicians have been obsessed for the past 30 years with using the way people are paid to cajole the rest of the country to work harder.
