Lafarge, the French construction group, was the worst performer on the French bourse on Wednesday after it detailed the terms of its €1.5bn rights issue.
The cement-maker, along with peer Saint Gobain, was among the first in its sector this year to announce it would raise capital by going to shareholders, but it had yet to provide specifics. Others, including Ireland’s CRH and Wolseley, the British building supplies group, have since followed.
