The lights are coming on again in a former MFI furniture factory on the outskirts of Scunthorpe, where Krakow-based Can-Pack has invested £45m ($63m) in a production line for aluminium drinks cans.

Final testing of the line is now under way, and full production – of up to 1bn cans a year – could begin in the next few weeks, says Jerzy Laszcz, managing director of Can-Pack UK.
