Iran and the west re-opened their war of words on Monday as a two-day conference on the Holocaust opened in Tehran.

The event has been billed as an objective examination of historical fact, although interest has fed off the international furore sparked by president Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad’s verbal attacks on Israel by and his questioning of the Holocaust.
