US existing-home sales resume decline

Existing-home sales resumed their downward path in March as tightening credit standards and sliding house prices kept buyers at bay.

Home resales dropped 2 per cent to a 4.93m annual rate, the National Association of Realtors said on Tuesday, a figure roughly in line with economists’ expectations. On an annual basis home sales were down 19.3 per cent.
