US jobs data work in dollar’s favour

The dollar extended its gains on Monday, building on a sharp rally following a stronger-than-expected US employment report at the end of last week.

The dollar advanced as a smaller than forecast drop in US non-farm payrolls on Friday boosted Treasury yields, fuelling speculation that the Federal Reserve might raise interest rates early next year.
